Description

If you love the look of aged, distressed copper and want to use fun material, this brooch and pendant project is for you! The copper is real, but the raku is faux, made from polymer clay. The fun part of this design is never knowing exactly what you are going to get when you use heat and chemicals to patina the copper.

Finished Size: Finished size is adjustable but the cooper needs to be cut into rectangle approximately 2 1/2″ by 1 3/4″
Required Materials:

  • 26-gauge copper sheet, 2 1/2″ x 1 3/4″ (or any gauge you can fold and unfold)
  • Black polymer clay, one package
  • Gold polymer clay, small amount
  • Translucent liquid polymer clay

Tools: Hammer; Metal shears or saw; Torch and fire brick; Quenching bowl; Round-nose pliers; 1/8″ Kemper cutter or other small circle cutter;
Technique: Torch; Stippling; Ceramic tile and bake
