Description

Featuring changing stitch counts, yarnovers, and wrapped stitches, these socks employ all sorts of tricks to combat pooling. Every seventh row features a ribbon of color, created with double figure-eight wrapped stitches. This engaging pattern makes time fly- before you know it, you’ll have lovely socks with columns of gently curving arches.

Finished Size: 7V” (8) (19 [20.5] cm) foot circumference; 5V” (14 cm) from cuff turning rnd to top of heel flap; 8V” (21.5 cm) from back of heel to tip of toe.
Yarn: Fingering weight (Super Fine #1) Shown here: Pagewood Farms Chugiak (100% superwash merino wool; 450 yd [411 m]/4 oz): Rainbow, 1 skein.
Needles: U.S. size 1 (2.25 mm): two 20″ (51 cm) circular (cir) and set of 4 double-pointed (optional). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge
Notions: 2 Markers (m); tapestry needle.
Gauge: 16 stitches and 23 rounds = 2″ (5 cm) in stockinette stitch worked in the round.
