Description

Thanks to beading wire producers, one of the most important jewelry-making materials is now available in finishes you won’t always want to hide in fact I took advantage of when I was designing a necklace that involved floating some unique lampworked porcupine beads on wire.

To make this three-strand necklace, I used crimp tubes covered with crimp covers to trap each porcupine bead on its own strand of very pretty, very supple silver-plated wire. And I gave the necklace a casual feel by attaching the beads at different positions on each wire. The result is a piece that is simple, modern, and lightweight.

Required Materials: lampworked porcupine beads, crimp tubes, crimp covers, slot clasp, beading wire. See project for complete list.

Tools Needed:
Wire cutters, Crimping pliers, Pen

Finished Size: 15″ (38 cm)

Techniques: Stringing; crimping
