An overlaid chain stitch is the key to this durable rug’s plaid look.

Description

Of the varied ways to achieve a plaid effect in crochet, this technique is the designer’s favorite: Contrasting yarn is crocheted into chains and attached to the main rug body stitch by stitch. Resilient wool yarn makes the rug substantial and durable; the generous size and simple plaid make it perfect for any room in the house.
