Description

The plush, plump braided cable and soft, minimally processed wool of this scarf block the chilliest wind. An extra-deep hood, carefully shaped with increases and short-rows, fits without pulling. Deep pockets help the scarf drape and stay in place -and hold one or two necessities on winter walks.

Finished Size: Scarf: 6″ wide and 62 (68, 74)” long, plus about 1 ¼” for optional ruffles; hood: 16 (16, 17)” tall. Scarf shown measures 68″ long.
Yarn: Naturally Harmony 10 ply (100% merino; 116 yd [106 m]/50 g): #802 gray, 8 (9, 10) balls, plus 2 additional balls for optional ruffles. Yarn distributed by Fiber Trends.
Yarn weight: #4 – Medium
Gauge: 16 sts and 24 rows = 4″ in St st.
Needles: Size 8 (5 mm): 24″ circular (cir) and one spare cir. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Cable needle (cn); stitch holders; markers (m); tapestry needle; two 1 ¼” buttons.
