The double-fronted Petrichor Cardigan is perfect for wrapping up on a gray day. Although it appears to be cabled, the stitch pattern is worked using simple decreases and twisted yarnovers, with isolated purl stitches creating a texture like raindrops on dusty soil. An I-cord edging adds a sleek, polished touch to the entire sweater.

Specific Yarn Used: Plymouth Yarn Homestead (100% Peruvian highland wool; 191 yd [175 m]/ 3 ½ oz [100 g]): #4 Light Grey Heather, 7 (8, 9, 11, 11, 13) skeins.

Needles: Sizes 8 (5 mm) and 9 (5.5 mm): 32″ circular (cir). Size 9 (5.5 mm): set of double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions: Markers (m); removable m; stitch holders; two 1″ buttons; tapestry needle.
