Try your hand at Kumihimo beading with this intermediate beaded necklace. You’ll love the dimensional beaded look it creates.

Techniques: Kumihimo

Materials:

  • 8 g spruce galvanized permanent-finish size 8° Japanese seed beads
  • 8 g metallic purple size 8° Japanese seed beads
  • 72 green tourmaline AB 4mm Swarovski crystal bicones
  • 40 iridescent purple 4mm Swarovski crystal pearl rounds
  • 32 iridescent purple 6mm Swarovski crystal pearl rounds
  • 1 antiqued copper 7×34mm hook-and-eye clasp with round glue-in end caps
  • Purple Superlon medium-weight Tex 210 beading cord
  • Instaneedle cord stiffener
  • Superglue gel

Tools: Scissors, Kumihimo weight (25-50 grams), 6” round kumihimo disk, Kumihimo Traveller stand (optional), 8 Kumihimo bobbins, Thread burner, 1 pair of chain- or flat-nose pliers
