Simple and chunky wool and cotton sweater.

Description

Two strands make this yarn interesting; one strand is white cotton, the other charcoal wool. Worked to a chunky gauge in a wide, broken rib, the yarn is springy and makes a stretchy fabric. The sweater is simple: worked in pieces with drop shoulders and a ribbed yoke aided by a few short-rows to make a raised boatneck.

Finished Size: 40 (43 1/2, 46 1/2, 49 1/2,
52 1/2, 56)” bust circumference. Pullover
shown measures 40″, modeled with 6″ of
positive ease.

Yarn: Imperial Yarn Anna (70% wool,
30% cotton; 140 yd [128 m]/3 1/2 oz
[100 g]): #46 quail, 6 (7, 8, 8, 9, 9) skeins.

Needles: Sizes 7 (4.5 mm) and 8
(5 mm): straight and set of double-pointed
(dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary
to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions: Marker (m); stitch holders;
tapestry needle.

Gauge: 14 sts and 23 rows = 4″ in Purl
Ridge patt on larger needles.
