Description

Using a Japanese cable and lace pattern to adorn the collar, Pamela Powers tailors Nora’s Sweater to a fine dressmaker’s fit. Horizontal yoke pieces that grow out of sleeves, short-row-shaped backs and fronts, and neat slip-stitch pleats in worstedweight alpaca add up to beautifully fitted, flattering drape. Long cables draw the eye up and down, while lace lightens the overall effect.

Finished Size 38½ (42½ , 46½ , 50½ , 54½ )” bust circumference. Sweater shown measures 42½ “, modeled with plenty of positive ease.
Yarn Misti Alpaca Worsted (100% alpaca; 109 yd [100 m]/50 g): #8934 eggplant melange, 15 (16, 18, 19, 20) balls.
Yarn Weight #4 – Medium
Needles Size 8 (5 mm). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Removable markers (m); 2 cable needles (cn); stitch holder; tapestry needle; size H/8 (5 mm) crochet hook.
Gauge 20 sts and 26 rows = 4″ in St st; 24 sts and 26 rows = 4″ in cable rib patt.
