Description

Fold a herringbone-stitched strip over a faux sea-glass ring, then connect the ends and add a chalcedony drop to form these chic earrings. Use ladder and herringbone stitches to form a strip that will collapse around the ring and crystal bicone.

Finished Size: 2¾”
Required Materials:

  • gold-lined clear luster size 11° Japanese seed beads
  • metallic plum size 11° Japanese seed beads
  • silver-lined matte transparent teal size 11° Japanese seed beads
  • indicolite 4mm crystal bicones
  • turquoise 23mm imitation sea-glass rings
  • blue chalcedony 10x14mm top-drilled teardrops
  • sterling silver 22-gauge wire
  • Beige size B nylon beading thread
  • Thread conditioner

Tools: Scissors, Size 11 and 12 beading needles, Wire cutters, 2 pairs of chain- or flat-nose pliers, Bail-forming pliers, Small anvil, Chasing hammer, Fine sandpaper or metal file

Technique: flat herringbone stitch, ladder stitch, wireworking, hammering
