Musical Squares Earrings Project Download

Description

Begin your use of sheet metal with these simple-shaped earrings. They give more motion with their swing style hanger rather than a clamp-on style, and the loose bail allows the pieces to move while making soft musical notes!

Finished Size: 1″ squares
Required Materials:

• 22-gauge copper sheet, 1″ x 2″ rectangle
• 22-gauge brass sheet, 5/8″ x 1 3/4″ rectangle
• Fancy headpins, 2 (20-gauge works best, 22-gauge will do, 1 1/2 – 2″ length)
• Two 20-gauge jump rings, 1/8″ inner diameter
• Ear wires, 2

Tools: Metal shears, heavy leather work gloves for working with metal shears (optional), ball peen hammer, bench block, 1.2mm metal punch, round-nose pliers, chain-nose pliers, flat-nose pliers, flush cutters, file, ruler, ultra fine marker, sanding sponge, fine steel wool, steel wool, baking soda toothpaste (optional)
