Description

Let both biological and mechanical inspirations guide you as you build this intricate, movable sterling silver ring with multiple soldered components.

Required Materials:

  • 14 gauge, 16 gauge, and 18 gauge sterling sheet
  • 16 gauge, 14 gauge, 12 gauge, 10 gauge, and 8 gauge sterling round wire
  • 10 gauge sterling square wire
  • 3.5mm sterling tubing
  • 3/32 diameter steel rod
  • Two stones

Tools: HAND AND FABRICATION: Jeweler’s saw, flex shaft, small engraving bur or hammer handpiece, needle file set, set of drill bits, 400 and 1200 grit radial bristle brushes, mini anvil, small hammer, flat and needle nosed pliers, wire cutters, ring mandrel, vise, pitch bowl. SOLDER SETUP: Torch and tips, striker, quench, tweezers, pickle pot
