Mari Lynn Patrick makes simple knitting interesting with directional panels and varied ribbings in this vest. A curving shawl collar, floating fronts, and a springy, structured linen yarn create wrap-the-body fit that looks good on everyone.

Finished Size 34 ½ (36 ½, 38 ½, 41, 43, 45 ½, 47 ½)” bust circumference. Vest shown measures 36 ½”, modeled with positive ease. Note: Because of the way the fronts hang when buttoned as shown, the garment actually has more positive ease than just the difference between bust measurement and garment measurement.
Yarn Fibra Natura Flax (100% linen; 137 yd [125 m]/50 g): #04 pearl, 7 (8, 9, 9, 10, 12, 13) skeins. Yarn distributed by Universal Yarn.
Yarn Weight: #2 – Fine
Needles Size 5 (3.75 mm): straight and 16″ circular (cir). Size 6 (4 mm): straight. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Removable marker; marker (m); 2 yd contrasting, smooth yarn; size D/3 (3.25 mm) crochet hook; one 5/8″ button; tapestry needle.
Gauge 24 sts and 27 rows = 4″ in body rib on larger needles.
