Brown and blue is one of my favorite color combinations. No doubt that’s why I bought this group of blue-green and leopard print lampworked beads.

Description

Brown and blue is one of my favorite color combinations. No doubt that’s why I bought this group of blue-green and leopard print lampworked beads. But what could I make to do them justice?

The answer came to me when (months later!) I found some cool silver beads that were nearly the same size as the lampworked beads: I’d make a thick, charmlike bracelet. The metal beads add a modern touch to the lampworked beads and help set them off.

Lesson learned: If you fall in love with some beads-for their color, shape, design, whatever-buy them! You’ll eventually figure out how to use them.

Materials: Glass rounds, lampworked rondelles, metal rondelles, lobster clasp, head pins, oval chain. See project for complete list.

Tools Needed: Flat-nose pliers, round-nose pliers, wire cutters

Techniques Used: Wireworking; opening and closing jump rings

Finished Size: 6″ (15 cm), expandable to 7″ (18 cm)
