This seamless lace skirt is worked in a hemp yarn and creates a swingy, flirty feminine piece.

Description

Hemp is an ancient fiber that behaves much like linen. It is crisp and ropelike in the hank but becomes softer and more pliable as it is worked, especially after it’s washed, when it develops a noncling drape and a cool, dense hand. This skirt, crocheted seamlessly from the top down, takes advantage of the tendency of crochet rows to shift to the right when worked in the round with right side facing. The swirl pattern creates bias-like fabric that falls beautifully from the elasticized waistband to below the knee. Lace faux godet insets begin at midlength and give the hem a full, twirly bounce.
