Pattern in Winning Towels

Finished Size: Mat carrier: 15″ circumference and 25 ½” tall. Small bag: 14″ wide and 12″ tall.
Yarn: Tahki Cotton Classic (100% mercerized cotton; 108 yd [100 m]/50 g): Mat carrier: #3407 rust, 4 skeins. Small bag: #3418 berry, 2 skeins.
Yarn weight: #3 – Light
Gauge: 20 sts and 28 rows = 4″ in St st on size 7 needles; 18 sts and 26 rows = 4″ in pierced diamond patt on middle-size needles; 21 sts and 26 rows = 4″ in lattice patt on middle-size needles.
Needles: Size 6 (4 mm): set of 5 dpn. Size 7 (4.5 mm): straight or circular (cir) and 2 double-pointed (dpn). Size 9 (5.5 mm): 2 dpn for I-cord BO.
Notions: Marker (m), tapestry needle.
