Description

On this episode of Knitting Daily TV host Eunny Jang and experts Kristin Omdahl and Shay Pendray offer new techniques for knitting sideways and every-which-way in an untraditional direction rather than the usual top-down or bottom-up construction.

Getting Started:
First up on this episode, Eunny Jang demonstrates some basics on working with bias bands, a great finishing technique that can be added to the neckline of a knitted sweater.

How-To:
Knitwear designer and author of the new book Knitting On the Axis (Interweave, Fall 2011) Mathew Gnagy joins Eunny to demonstrate his unique method of sideways knitting to create a nautical-inspired sweater incorporating a clever combination of textured stitches and design details. Mathew began his career using paper patterns, and his knowledge in this area are applied to knitting easily.

Crochet-Along:
On this episode of Knitting Daily TV Marcy Smith and Kristin Omdahl continue the Chain Reaction Afghan Project crochet-along by looking at some of the afghan squares that can easily be upsized to create afghans of their own.

Quick Tip:
Host Eunny Jang is back with a quick tip on picking up stitches in your knitting.
