Description

A wrap can keep you warm on a chilly night, give the finishing touch to an evening dress, or add that perfect extra layer for a pulled-together look. On this epsiode of Knitting Daily TV we’re celebrating the wrap. We have ideas for unique lace stitches to maximize drape and two different edgings–one knit, the other crochet.

Getting Started
We get started on this episode with lace knitting. Eunny has some tips to share, such as choosing the right needles, creating lifelines in your lace stitch pattern, and how to manage a basic eyelet pattern used in many wraps.

Designer Spotlight
Go on location with Kristin to visit with designer and author Sheryl Thies, who offers a tutorial on dropping sttiches to make a fringed edging on a knitted wrap.

Crochet Corner
Kristin demonstrates how to crochet motifs, this time with a triangular shape. These three-sided motifs give the traditional granny square a new twist, because they can also be stitched together for make a geometric throw.

How-To
Kristin puts on her knitwear designer cap and joins Shay to demonstrate a knitted wrap from her book Knitting Wrapsody (Interweave, 2011). This wrap, called the Summit: American Yak Wrap, has a unique reversible lace stitch pattern and bobble edging.

Knit-Along
Zontee Hou and Eunny wrap up the Tabard Vest knit-along project. Zontee’s last demonstration focuses on picking up stitches for the collar, sides, and pocket trim to add those finishing touches to this stunning project.
