Inspired by small blue Karner butterflies, Jennifer created an eye-catching design worked first back and forth around the leg. Stitches are picked up and worked down to the toe, with a contrasting color for the heel and toe. Finished Size: 6¾ (7, 7½, 8, 9, 9¼)” (17 [18, 19,20.5, 23, 23.5] cm) foot circumference and 8¼ (8¾,9¼,9½,10, 10½)” (21 [22, 23.5, 24, 25.5, 26.5] cm)long from back of heel to tip of toe; foot length is adjustable. Socks shown measure 7″ (18 cm).
Yarn: Anzula Squishy (80% superwash Merino wool,10% cashmere, 10% nylon; 385 yd [352 m]/4 oz[115g]): teal (MC) and maple (CC), 1 skein each.
Needles: U.S. size 1 (2.25 mm). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Markers (m); tapestry needle; waste yarn for provisional CO and peasant heel.
Gauge: 36 sts and 54 rnds = 4″ (10 cm) in St st;31 sts and 56 rows = 4″ (10 cm) in Elongated st.
