Description
When Designer Amy O’Neill Houck’s son was a toddler, she found most baby blankets to be too big for a car seat or stroller. She designed this blanket to fit nicely without hanging off the edge of a seat or getting caught in stroller wheels. Worked from the center out with corner increases, the blanket’s final dimensions are determined by the length of the foundation chain. Modified filet crochet rounds add textural interest to the multicolored stripe pattern.
Finished Size: 18″ wide and 28″ long.
Yarn: Blue Sky Alpacas Skinny Dyed (100% organically grown cotton; 165 yd [150 m]/2 ¼ oz [65 g];): #301, glacier (MC), 2 skeins; #303, sprout (CC1), 2 skeins; #310 coffee (CC2), 1skein.
Yarn weight: #3 – Light
Gauge: 14 sts and 9 rows = 4″ in dc.
Needles: Hooks: Size G/7 (4.5 mm) hook. Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
