Difficulty: Intermediate

Finished Size: 36 (381?4, 40, 423?4, 451?4, 463?4)" bust circumference. Pullover shown measures 381?4"; modeled with 61?4" of positive ease.

Specific Yarn Used: Blue Sky Fibers Woolstok Worsted (100% fi ne highland wool; 123 yd [112 m]/13?4 oz [50 g]): #1303 highland fleece, 9 (10, 11, 12, 12, 13) skeins.

Yarn Weight: 4

Needles: Sizes 6 (4 mm) and 8 (5 mm): 32" circular (cir) and set of doublepointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions: Markers (m); removable m; cable needle (cn); stitch holder; waste yarn; tapestry needle.

Gauge: 20 sts and 27 rows = 4" in St st on larger needle; 251?2 sts and 261?2 rows = 4" in cable patt on larger needle.

Notes:

  • The body of this pullover is worked in the round to the underarm, then the upper front and back are worked separately back and forth. Stitches for the sleeves are picked up and the sleeves are worked in the round from the top down, with the sleeve cap shaped using short-rows.
  • The cable charts are worked both in rounds and back and forth in rows. When working in rounds, work every row as a right-side row.
  • During shaping, if there are not enough stitches to work a complete 4- or 6-stitch cable, work the remaining stitches as they appear.
