Sterling silver metal clay was developed to provide a stronger alternative to fine silver. Using sterling silver metal clay, make this strong, yet delicate, double wrapped ring. The small square stone accents make this ring simple and sleek, perfect for everyday wear. Perfect for intermediate jewelry artists, this project uses metal clay work and stone setting techniques for a fun afternoon project.

Materials:

  • 10 grams sterling silver metal clay (Art Clay brand used in example)
  • 5 grams fine silver metal clay (Art Clay brand used in example)
  • 2 grams fine silver metal clay syringe
  • 1 gram of fine silver metal clay paste
  • 2 4×4 mm square stones

Tools: Work surface, thickness guides, snake roller, roller for flattening, texture (low to mid relief), straight edge cutter, sanding sponge or sandpaper, paint brush, resist for texture, 6×6 square tube or similar size template, ruler, bamboo stick, steel ring mandrel, rawhide mallet, half round bending pliers, fiber blanket, kiln
