I love spirals and find ways to incorporate them into my crochet whenever I can. For this shawl, working a piping round in sequined silk really accentuates the geometry of the spiral. The sequins are small and subtle, but they shimmer and shine when you move. Imagine a handsome admirer noticing you from across the room and becoming entranced (or even hypnotized) by the sparkling spiral wrapped around your shoulders. It could happen!

Finished Size: 60″ wide x 28″ long (152.5 cm x 71 cm). Circular center is 20″ (51 cm) in diameter.

Yarn: Tilli Tomas, Pure & Simple (100% silk; 260 yd [238 m]/3.5 oz [100 g]): atmosphere (A), 3 skeins. Tilli Tomas, Disco Lights (100% silk prestrung with petite sequins, 225 yd [206 m]/3.5 oz [100 g]): atmosphere (B), 2 skeins.

Yarn weight: #4 Medium

Hook: G/6 (4.0mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.

Notions: Yarn needle, Stitch markers

Gauge: 10 stitches and 4 rows of dtr = 4″ (10 cm) after blocking.
