Description

The fun flower and hearts pattern in this sweater create a great motif for young girls.

Finished Size: 22½ (24, 26½ , 28)” chest circumference, buttoned (including ¾ ” front bands). Sweater shown measures 28″, modeled on a five-year-old.

Yarn: Cascade Yarns Heritage (75% superwash merino, 25% nylon; 437 yd [400 m]/100 g): #5618 natural (MC), 2 (2, 2, 3) skeins; #5617 fuchsia, #5611 yellow, #5612 green, #5613 pink, and #5614 lavender, 1 skein each.


Yarn Weight: #3 – Light

Needles: Body and sleeve. size 1½ (2.5 mm): 24″ circular (cir) and set of double-pointed (dpn). Bands. size 0 (2 mm): 24″ cir. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.


Notions: Markers (m); tapestry needle; five (five, six, six) 3/8 ” buttons; sewing needle and thread to match MC; smooth, contrasting waste yarn; sewing machine for steek reinforcement (recommended).


Gauge: 34 sts and 40 rows = 4″ in solidcolor St st using larger needles; 31 sts and 39 rows = 4″ in colorwork patt on larger needles.
