Description

Use cables and bottom ribbing to create this knitted pullover pattern. Featuring geometric cable details and a shirttail back this pattern is truly unique.

Difficulty: Intermediate

Finished Size: 361?4 (401?2, 433?4, 48, 521?4, 561?2)" bust circumference. Pullover shown measures 401?2"; modeled with 81?2" of positive ease.

Specific Yarn Used: Imperial Yarn Erin (100% wool; 225 yd [206 m]/4 oz [113 g]): #127 marionberry pie, 5 (5, 6, 6, 7, 7) skeins.

Yarn Weight: 4

Needles: Sizes 6 (4 mm) and 7 (4.5 mm): 32" circular (cir) and set of double-pointed (dpn). Size 6 (4 mm) 16" cir. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions: Markers (m); cable needle (cn); stitch holders; tapestry needle.

Gauge: 19 sts and 26 rnds= 4" in St st on larger needle.

Notes:

  • The body of this pullover is worked in the round from the bottom up, beginning with a back shirttail that is worked flat. Stitches for the bottom ribbing are picked up along the bottom edge and the ribbing is worked from the top down.
  • The stitch count in the front cable section will change; front stitch counts will only include stockinette sections at sides.
  • Charts A and C are worked both in rounds and back and forth in rows. Chart B is worked back and forth, and Chart D is worked in rounds. When working in rounds, work every chart row as a right-side row.

  • Body length measurements on the schematic do not include the bottom ribbing, which will add 2" to the length after finishing.
