“I really liked the dimension of this oversized pleated cable,” says Angela Hahn of the French Braid Pullover. Low-relief cables take on a strong, chiseled look in a rustic undyed organic wool. Finish the project neatly, and the entire sweater could be worn inside out for a different, softer texture.

Finished Size 31 (34 ¾, 38 ½, 42 ¼, 46, 49 ¾)” bust circumference. Sweater shown measures 34 ¾” and 25″ long (shorter length option), modeled with minimal ease.
Yarn Filatura di Crosa Natur (100% organic wool; 87 yd [80 m]/50 g): #1.600 cocoa, 11 (13, 14, 15, 17, 18) skeins for shorter version; 12 (13, 15, 16, 17, 19) skeins for longer version. Yarn distributed by Tahki Stacy Charles.
Yarn Weight #4 – Medium
Needles Body. size 8 (5 mm): 32″ and 20″ circulars (cir). Sleeves. size 8 (5 mm): set of 4 or 5 double-pointed (dpn) and (optional) 16″ cir. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Markers (m); cable needle (cn); stitch holders; tapestry needle.
Gauge 17 sts and 26 rnds = 4″ in St st; 28 sts of plait cable patt measure 3 ½” wide.
