Description

The updated, fresh, and chic Frederick Cardigan knocks the stuffiness out of the typical professional cardigan. It features allover interlocking cables offset by plain stockinette stitch and set-in sleeves that create a sleek and sophisticated silhouette for the new-school knitter. This cardigan is worked in pieces from the bottom up and seamed; the buttonband is picked up and worked in finishing.

Finished Size: 331/2 (431/2, 531/2)" bust circumference, buttoned. Cardigan shown measures 431/2"; modeled with 121/2" of positive ease.

Specific Yarn Used: Universal Yarn Deluxe Worsted Naturals (100% wool; 220 yd [201 m]/31/2 oz [100 g]: #40003 musket, 6 (7, 8) skeins.

Needles: Sizes 6 (4 mm) and 8 (5 mm): straight. Size 6 (4 mm): 60" circular (cir). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions: Markers (m); cable needle (cn); tapestry needle; five 1" buttons.

Gauge: 26 sts and 26 rows = 4" in Chart B patt on larger needles; 18 sts and 26 rows = 4" in St st on larger needles.
