An easy four square pillow knitted out of bulky yarns.

Description

This pillow makes for a great beginner-level project. The throw pillow is constructed out of garter stitch squares sewn together. A large button set in the center is the finishing touch to the piece.

Finished Size: 12″ square.
Yarn: Blue Sky Alpacas Bulky (50% alpaca, 50% wool; 45 yd [41 m]/100 g): #1215 claret, 2 skeins, #1003 porcupine, 2 skeins.
Yarn weight: #4 – Medium
Gauge: 8 ½ sts and 14 rows (7 ridges) = 4″ in garter st.
Needles: Size 13 (9 mm) needles. Adjust needle sizes if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
Notions: Embroidery floss in matching color, yarn needle, 12″ – 12″ pillow form, two 2 ½” buttons, two 1″ buttons, eight stitch markers (m).
