The designer gives the pillows dual personalities-floral motifs embellished with embroidery on the fronts, geometric stripes and color blocks on the backs.

Finished Size: Two pillows, each 16″ (40.5 cm) square.
Yarn: Harrisville Designs New England Highland (100% wool; 200 yd [183 m]/100 g): #19 blackberry (purple; MC), 2 skeins; #7 tundra (gold), #14 woodsmoke (light bluegreen), #15 loden blue (dark blue-green), #36 garnet, #37 cocoa, #48 dove gray, and #68 olive, 1 skein each. This is enough yarn to make both pillows.
Yarn weight: #4 – Medium
Gauge: 18 sts and 26 rows = 4″ (10 cm) in both solid-color St st and intarsia St st from charts.
Needles: Size 7 (4.5 mm). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Removable markers; tapestry needle; sewing needle and matching thread for attaching buttons; 16″ (40.5 cm) pillow form for each pillow; five 7/8″ (2.2-cm) buttons for each pillow.
