A light weight lace stole for evenings out.

Description

Melinda C. Hunt’s Float Stole is a study in negative and positive space: From open lace eyelets to horizontal welting, different textures create a surprisingly complex effect with simple patterns. A fluid, fine alpaca laceweight ripples and flows.

Finished Size: 20″ wide and 80″ long, after blocking.

Yarn:
The Alpaca Yarn Company Suri Elegance (100% suri alpaca; 875 yd [800 m]/100 g): #1301 silver, 2 skeins.

Yarn Weight: #2 – Fine
Needles:
Size 4 (3.5 mm): 32″ or longer circular (cir). Optional. size 2 (2.75 mm): same length as main needle, for working pleats. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions: Markers (m; optional); tapestry needle; floss or other firm, laceweight yarn, about 80″ long, to be used as pleat marker.

Gauge: 20 sts and 28 rows = 4″ in St st on larger needle, after blocking.
