Description

Designer Marlaina Bird’s inspiration for this project was a baby blanket’s lace pattern.Worked in laceweight yarn with matching beads crocheted into the lace pattern, that inspiration has translated into elegant, fingerless gauntlets.

Finished Size: S-M (L-xL) 7″ wide and 15″ long (8″ wide and 16″ long).
Yarn: AlpacaWith a Twist Fino (70% alpaca, 30% silk; 875 yd [800 m]/31-2 oz [100 g]; ): #2001 royal velvet, 1 hank.
Yarn weight: #1 – Super Fine
Gauge: 20 sts and 6 rows (point to point) = 2″ in patt on smaller hook; 20 sts and 61-2 rows (point to point) = 21 4″ in patt on larger hook.
Hook: Size D/3 (3.25 mm) [F/5 (3.75 mm)] for size S-M [L-xL]. Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge. Size 14 (.75 mm) steel hook or hook small enough to fit through hole of bead.
Notions: Yarn needle; 70 g of size 8″ seed beads to match yarn.
