This hat came about as a matching piece to my wildly popular Felici on the Double Cowl. It uses the same yarn, the same hook, and is made in the same way, but in the round and with some super simple decreases thrown in. Just grab two of your favorite Felicis- or any other sock or fingering weight yarn- and get started! I wrote this pattern for all types of hats: messy bun, beanie, and slouch. No matter your style, this pattern’s got you covered. The size is very forgiving as it’s super squishy and stretchy. It should fit anywhere from teen to women’s large.

DIFFICULTY: Easy
FINISHED SIZES: About 20″ circumference and 71/2″ (8″, 10″) tall.
YARN: Knit Picks Felici Sock Yarn (75% superwash Merino wool; 25% nylon; 218 yd [199 m]/13/4 [50 g];): 2 balls color(s) of choice (see Notes).
HOOK: Size I/9 (5.5 mm). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
NOTIONS: Yarn needle.
GAUGE: 1 pattern repeat and 5 rnds = 3″ in [dc in next 3 sts, shell in next st, mod dc2tog, dc in next 3 sts].
