Description

This pattern is the result of a request by a young mother for baby slippers that were easy to put on “fat, little feet” and stay on the feet without slipping off.

Finished Size: 4″ (5 ½”, 6)” from back of heel to tip of toe (measured on the outside). To fit infants 3/6 (6-12, 12-18) months old. Actual size is achieved during felting so you can customize the fit to your baby’s foot.
Yarn: Naturally Perendale DK (100% wool; 110 yd [101 m]/50 g): #54 red (MC), 1 (1, 2) skein(s); #93 purple (CC), 1 skein. Yarn distributed by Fiber Trends.
Yarn weight: #3 – Light
Gauge: 16 sts and 22 rows = 4″ in St st, before felting.
Needles: Size 9 (5.5 mm): 16″ or 24″ circular (cir). Size 10 ½ (6.5 mm): 1 double-pointed (dpn) or straight needle for casting off. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Spare cir needle in smaller size; tapestry needle.
