Vintage style cardigan.

Description

The designer combines two simple textures and yarn with a shimmery thread for a lux, sumputously tactile effect. Elbow length sleeves; a wide neckline; and cleverly hidden, functional buttons give a vintage feel to the Farrow Rib Cardigan.

Finished Size: 33 ¼ (35 ¼, 39 ¼, 43 ¼, 47 ¼, 51 ¼)” bust circumference, buttoned, including 1 ½” front bands. Cardigan shown measures 35 ¼”.
Yarn: Muench String of Pearls (70% cotton, 20% rayon, 10% polyester; 99 yd [91 m]/50 g): #4003 taupe, 10 (11, 12, 13, 15, 16) balls.
Yarn weight: #4 – Medium
Gauge: 24 sts and 31 rows = 4″ in St.John’s-wort patts on larger needles.
Needles: Sizes 7 (4.5 mm) and 5 (3.75 mm). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Tapestry needle; three 1 ¼” decorative buttons; six ?” functional buttons; sewing needle and matching thread.
