In James Lord Pierpont’s original lyrics to “The One Horse Open Sleigh” (1857)—aka “Jingle Bells”—he sings of a Miss Fannie Bright being seated by him in the sleigh. Researchers suggest that, according to the 1860 census, she may have been a real person—an 11-year-old girl from Enfield, Connecticut. This beautiful stranded-colorwork cowl-and-mittens set is named for that child and the joy she has brought carolers for more than 165 years.
