Description

Not a necklace, but a bit of lace for your neck, Doris Chan’s piece has the vintage appeal of a lace collar, the demure coverage of a tiny shawl over the barest fashions, and the panache of a scarf. Crocheted sideways in a whisper-soft blend of cashmere and silk, the lace has ribbing that fans out into a swooping trim inspired by a lace doily edging.

Finished Size: 16″ neck circumference; 7″ length at longest point.
Yarn: Filatura di Crosa Superior (70% cashmere, 30% silk; 330 yd [300 m]/¾ oz (25 g); ): #18 sage green, 1 ball. Yarn distributed by Tahki Stacy Charles.
Yarn Weight: #0 – Lace
Gauge: 30 st = 5″ and 12 rows = 2″ in sc blo ribbing; 10 rows = 4½” at deepest point and 5″ at widest point in lace trim.
Hook: Size G/6 (4 mm). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
Notions: Steel crochet hook size 13/14 (0.9 mm) or sewing needle for attaching buttons; three 3/8″ buttons with shank.
