Work from the bottom up using cables and a tubular cast on to make this classy knitted pullover pattern. Fall in love with the sophisticated saddle shoulders that make it so unique.

Finished Size: 32 (341?2, 371?2, 411?2, 441?2, 481?2)" bust circumference. Pullover shown measures 32"; modeled with zero ease.

Specific Yarn Used: The Fibre Co. Cumbria Worsted (60% merino wool, 30% brown masham wool, 10% mohair; 238 yd [218 m]/31?2 oz [100 g]): Scafell Pike, 6 (7, 7, 8, 8, 9) skeins. Yarn distributed by Kelbourne Woolens.

Yarn Weight: 4

Needles: Size 6 (4 mm): straight and 16" circular (cir). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions: Markers (m); cable needle (cn); stitch holder; tapestry needle; waste yarn.

Gauge: 23 sts and 28 rows = 4" in Moss st; 42 sts of Kanik Cable chart = 53?4" wide; 20 sts of Staghorn Cable = 21?2" wide.

Notes:

  • This pullover is worked back and forth in pieces and seamed.
  • During shaping, if there are not enough stitches to work a complete cable, work the remaining stitches in stockinette.
