Description

Craft a dimensional brooch by melting scrap metal or wire and soldering it to new metal sheet.

Required Materials:

  • 22 gauge jeweler’s bronze; 3 x 3 sheet
  • 2 feet 14 gauge bronze wire or scrap bronze
  • Half inch of 1?16″ brass tubing
  • 4″ of music wire
  • Patina for bronze
  • Paste solder

Tools: HAND: Shears; jeweler’s saw and blade; wood dapping block; wood dapping punch;
repousse tools; large, rounded hardwood doweling; old drill bit; scrap of wood SOLDERING SETUP: Torch, striker, tips, pickle, tongs, tweezers, flux, charcoal brick
