Description

This knitted hat is worked in the round in a diagonal rib pattern. This oversized pattern creates a casual slouchy beret look. Try knitting this hat for men, too. An organic DK wool makes a fun and friendly project.

Finished Size 16¾ (19, 21)” brim circumference, to fi t 20 (22, 24)” head circumference. Hat shown in smallest size.
Yarn Rowan Purelife Organic Wool Naturally Dyed (100% organic wool; 137 yd [125 m]/ 50 g): #603 black tea, 2 (3, 3) skeins. Yarn distributed by Westminster Fibers.
Yarn Weight #3 – Light
Needles Size 6 (4 mm): 16″ circular (cir) and set of double-pointed (dpn). Size 4 (3.5 mm): set of dpn. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Marker (m); tapestry needle.
Gauge 22 sts and 28 rnds = 4″ in St st on larger needles; 28 sts and 28 rows = 4″ in diagonal rib patt on larger needles.
