A photograph in a fashion magazine inspired this oxidized-chain necklace. The featured model had donned a long, delicate chain necklace worn loosely knotted around a choker-length chunky chain necklace, its pendant hanging attractively off-center.

I replicated the effect by attaching small-link chain to large-link chain in such a way that the smaller chain forms swags up one side of the necklace. The two pendants-a crystal and an angel wing charm-hang in delicious defiance of symmetry.

I did not even attempt to find balance in this necklace. It is deliberately unsymmetrical, which is refreshing for a change, don’t you think?

Materials: Polygon drop, charm, jump rings, curb chain, oval chain, lobster clasp. See project for complete list.
