Description

This cropped sweater is designed by piecing together motifs from an assortment of Nordic reference books. By modifying and changing the scale of the motifs, and by matching them with the burnt red and black yarn, the designer gave the motifs a bit of a Middle Eastern mystique.

Finished Size: 40 (44, 48, 52)” (101.5 [112, 122, 132] cm) bust/chest circumference. Sweater shown measures 44″ (112 cm).
Yarn: Reynolds Contessa (50% lambs-wool, 30% angora, 20% nylon; 82 yd [75 m]/50 g): #20 black (MC), 10 (10, 11, 12) skeins; #57 Tuscan red (CC), 2 (2, 3, 3) skeins.
Yarn weight: #5 – Bulky
Gauge: 15 sts and 19 rows = 4″ (10 cm) in color pattern on larger needles; 14 sts and 19 rows = 4″ (10 cm) in St st on larger needles.
Needles: Body and Sleeves. Size 9 (5.5 mm). Ribbing. Size 7 (4.5 mm). Collar. Size 7 (4.5 mm): 16″ (40-cm) circular (cir). Adjust needle sizes if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
