Corrugated Stripe Socks Knitting Pattern Download

Description

Inspired by the traditional two-color corrugated ribbing used in many Fair Isle garments, these socks use one nearly solid and one variegated shade to produce this masterpiece in stripes. The sock is ingeniously constructed so that even heel and toe continue the unbroken line of stripes, while the frequent shifts from solid to multi make pooling a thing of the past.

Finished Size: About 7 (8, 9)” (18 [20.5, 23] cm) foot circumference and 9 (9X, 10V)” (23 [25, 26.5] cm) long from back of heel to tip of toe.
Yarn: Fingering weight (Super Fine #1) Shown here: Koigu Premium Merino (100% merino wool; 175 yd (160 m)/50 g): [#1125] (plum), 2 skeins. Koigu Painter’s Palette Premium Merino (100% merino wool; 175 yd (160 m)/50 g): [#P100L] (multi), 2 skeins.
Needles: Cuff -U.S. size 1 (2.25 mm): set of 5 doublepointed (dpn). Leg, heel, and foot-U.S. size 2 (2.75 mm): set of 5 double-pointed (dpn). I-cord-U.S. size 4 (3.5 mm): set of 2 dpns. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Gauge: 18 sts and 19 rnds = 2″ (5 cm) in patt st (after blocking).
