Corded Yoke Pullover Knitting Pattern Download

Description

A new kind of seamless yoke for a pullover. After binding off midway through the chest and at the top of the sleeves, use long I-cord loops to attach the bodice and sleeves to an I-cord neckband to create a spoke yoke. The sweater, worked in a handpainted yarn, uses a two-by-two rib for a close fit that doesn’t cling.

Finished Size: 30 ½ (35 ¼, 38 ½, 41 ½, 48, 52 ¾)” bust circumference. Top shown measures 35 ¼”.
Yarn: Artyarns Silk Rhapsody (70% mohair, 30% silk; 260 yd [238 m]/100 g): #234 sea green, 3 (3, 4, 4, 5, 5) skeins.
Yarn weight: #4 – Medium
Gauge: 20 sts and 22 rows = 4″ in k2, p2 rib on larger needles, and with ribbing stretched so the p2 columns appear only slightly narrower than the k2 columns.
Needles: Body and sleeves—size 8 (5 mm): 24″ circular (cir) and set of 5 double-pointed. Edgings—size 6 (4 mm): 24″ circular and set of 5 dpn. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Stitch holder; smooth, contrasting waste yarn for provisional cast-on; markers (m); tapestry needle; 3 yd of elastic cord (available from bead or craft shops); 6 removable markers or safety pins.
