Confetti Pillows Knitting Pattern Download

Description

A strand of novelty yarn mixed in with two strands of wool yarn lends texture and color to these festive, felted pillows. The covers are knitted as rectangles, sewn into shape, and felted in the washing machine. Buttons close the back.

Finished Size: About 10 (12, 14)” (25.5 [30.5, 35.5] cm) square. Before felting, pieces measure about 18 (19, 21)” (46 [48.5, 53.5] cm) wide and 39 (42, 47)” (99 [106.5, 119.5] cm) long. Shown in all three sizes.
Yarn: Plymouth Galway (100% wool; 230 yd [210 m]/100 g): 3 (4, 5) balls (MC) and Trendsetter Charm (77% polyester, 23% polyamide tactel; 94 yd [86 m]/20 g): 2 (2, 3) balls (CC). Shown in #732 denim heather (MC) with #603 Oxford skies (CC), #19 deep rose (MC) with #1000 pansey floral (CC), and #735 copper heather (MC) with #114 desert sunset (CC).
Yarn weight: #4 – Medium
Gauge: 9 sts and 14 rows = 4″ (10 cm) in St st with MC yarn doubled, before felting.
Needles: Size 15 (10 mm): 24″ (60-cm) circular (cir). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Tapestry needle; zippered pillowcase to hold the fabric while felting; two or three 1″ (2.5-cm) buttons; 10 (12, 14)” (25.5 [30.5, 35.5] cm) square, knife-edge pillow form.
