Description

An Aran and gansey mash-up, the Charlestown Pullover unites cables and texture for a classic pullover that’s perfect for days on the ocean or casual weekends. Made from the top down in one piece, the saddle shoulders are worked first, then the yoke is worked in the round.

Finished Size: 36¼ (40¼, 44¼, 47¾, 51¾, 55)” bust circumference. Pullover shown measures 36¼”; modeled with 2¼” of positive ease.
Yarn: Brown Sheep Company Nature Spun Worsted (100% wool; 245 yd [224 m]/3½ oz [100 g]): #720W ash, 5 (6, 7, 8, 9, 9) balls.
Needles: Sizes 6 (4 mm) and 7 (4.5 mm): 32″ circular (cir) and set of double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Markers (m); removable m; cable needle (cn); stitch holders; tapestry needle.
Gauge: 24 sts and 26 rows = 4″ in Texture patt on larger needles; 15 sts of Zigzag chart = 2¼” wide on larger needles; 18 (24, 24, 30, 30, 30) sts of Body Cable chart = 2½ (3¼, 3¼, 4¼, 4¼, 4¼)” wide on larger needles.
