The Catch the Wave Hat is inspired by Tofi no, a surfing destination on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. Worked in the round from the bottom up, this hat features both stranded colorwork and mosaic knitting.

SPECIFIC YARN USED Ancient Arts Fibre Crafts Lascaux (75% Punta Arenas wool, 25% Manx Loaghtan wool; 220 yd 201 m/3½ oz 100 g): Rill (MC), Indus Valley (CC1), and Denim 2 (CC2), 1 skein each.
NEEDLES SIZE 7 (4.5 mm): 16” circular (cir) and set of double pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
NOTIONS Marker (m); tapestry needle.
GAUGE 21 sts and 29 rnds = 4” in St st.
