Carolyn’s Cabled Purse Crochet Pattern Download

Three colors combine in this crochet purse, great for an afternoon outing. The whole thing is worked in the round for a seamless construction. Front post double crochet stitches create a rib like texture as well as a woven look.

Finished Size: About 9 ½” high (excluding handles), 6 ½” wide at base, and 15″ wide at top; and 3 ½” deep.
Yarn: Berroco Vintage (50% acrylic, 40% wool, 10% nylon; 217 yd [198 m]/3½ oz [100 g]; ): #5103 mocha (brown, A), #5192 chana dal (gold, B), #5164 tang (orange, C), and #5121 sunny (yellow, D), 1 skein each.
Yarn Weight: #4 – Medium
Hook: Size 7 (4.5 mm). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge
Notions: Six stitch markers (m); 2 bamboo style handles (Shown: Clover plastic bamboo look handles 6″ – 5 ¼” U-shaped, distributed by The Leisure Boutique); yarn needle; snap closure; sewing needle; matching thread or 1 ply of color B.
Gauge: 18 sts and 20 rows = 4″ in sc; 16 sts and 18 rows = 4″ in main body patt, blocked.
