Description

These socks were designed for long, cold winter days and nights. The Cable & Seed Knee Socks are worked from the toe up and feature a peasant heel. Calf shaping is incorporated into the ribbing pattern at the sides of each leg to give the socks stretch, which helps them stay put.

Difficulty Level: Intermediate
Finished Size: 8″ foot circumference and 9¼” long from back of heel to tip of toe; foot length is adjustable.
Yarn: Plymouth Yarn Worsted Merino Superwash (100% superwash merino wool; 218 yd [199 m]/3½ oz [100 g]): #16 burgundy, 2 skeins.
Needles: Size 6 (4 mm). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Markers (m); cable needle (cn); waste yarn for heel; tapestry needle.
Gauge: 21 sts and 32 rnds = 4″ in St st; 23 sts of Cable chart = 3¾” wide.
