Working a simple stitch pattern from side to side gives this cardigan its unique look, sporting vertical lines rather than the horizontal lines more common in crochet. A fine-weight yarn creates a warm, casual cardigan with classic lines and an optional belt.

Finished Size: 34.75 (39.5, 44.5, 49.25)” bust circumference, buttoned. Cardigan shown measures 39.5″. Fit is standard with ½” of ease.
Yarn: Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock (80% superwash wool, 20% nylon; 215 yd [190 m]/1 oz [57 g]): #55NS butterscotch, 7 (8, 9, 11) skeins.
Yarn weight: #1 – Super Fine
Gauge: 29 sts and 25 rows = 4″ in rib eyelet patt.
Hook: Size G/6 (4 mm). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Yarn needle; ten (eleven, eleven, twelve) ½” buttons.
