Beautiful art is just a layer away!
In Building Beautiful Layers, you’ll learn Rae Missigman’s process for creating bold, heavily-detailed and multi-layered abstract art. You’ll begin by preparing a cradled wood panel and creating a stash of monoprinted collage papers using a gelatin printing plate and upcycled tools. Rae will then guide you, and student Amy Jones, through the painting process starting with organic drips of acrylic ink. After building layers of paint, collage papers, and texture paste, you’ll then move on to mark making where you’ll develop your own signature marks using a variety of pens and markers!

About the Artist
Rae Missigman is a self-taught mixed-media artist who loves to create, blog, and instruct. She has a fondness for both pattern and color, which has led her to create outside the lines, resulting in artwork that is both busy and polychromatic. Rae offers both online and in-person classes. She is a designer for StencilGirl Products and designs her own stamps.
